Summery, fruity and sweet to its core, our peach sangria recipe is like sunshine in a glass. A mix of fresh peaches and peach schnapps promises that the fruit flavor isn’t a subtle hint—it’s a full-on peach bushel. They’re swirled with white wine and topped with fizzy sparkling water for an extra pop. Just remember to mix it up a few hours before serving so the ingredients and flavors have time to meld into one another. It’s worth the wait!

Peach Sangria Ingredients

  • Peaches: While you may instinctually try to find ripe peaches for peach dessert recipes, we actually recommend buying pretty firm peaches for this peach sangria recipe. Firm peaches break down less quickly in the alcohol so there aren’t any floaty bits and mushy peach slices in the pitcher by the end of the night.
  • Wine: Since this is a white sangria and not a red sangria, buy a bottle of white wine. Don’t grab something crazy expensive. After all, the wine will be mixed with a lot of other ingredients and not enjoyed by itself, so you can get away with one of the best white wines under $20.
  • Peach schnapps: This super-sweet liqueur is infused with real peaches or peach flavoring, depending on the brand. Use leftover peach schnapps in our peach margarita or peach champagne recipes.
  • Sparkling water: We top the peach sangria with a bit of sparkling water for a nice fizziness and to dilute the alcohol content and sweetness just a touch.

Directions

Step 1: Make the base

Stir together the sliced peaches, white wine and peach schnapps in a large pitcher.

Step 2: Chill

Cover the pitcher with storage wrap and refrigerate the peach sangria base until it’s chilled, about one hour.

Step 3: Add sparkling water

Recipe Variations

  • Add more fruit: Peaches are the star, but a few extra summer fruits wouldn’t hurt! Toss sliced strawberries and limes into the sangria for extra color. A handful of fresh mint would make this peach sangria recipe completely refreshing—a summer must.
  • Make a white peach sangria: Yes, you can use other types of peaches than just yellow peaches. White peaches have a blush-colored skin and white flesh that’s sweeter and juicer than yellow peaches. We love how elegant white peach slices look bobbing in a white peach sangria.
  • Sub the sparkling water: Replace the plain sparkling water with Sprite for a lemon-lime kick or ginger ale for a pleasant, zippy ginger taste. Or, make the peach sangria a bit more boozy and sub the sparkling water for Prosecco or peach-flavored alcoholic seltzers.

How to Store Peach Sangria

Store leftover peach sangria in the fridge for up to two days. Keep in mind, though, that the sparkling water will fall flat, and the peaches will break down slightly.

Can I make peach sangria ahead of time?

Yes! In fact, you must make peach sangria ahead of time before serving. The ingredients need time to meld together and chill thoroughly. Our recipe recommends one hour in the fridge, but you could mix it up and store it in the fridge the day before serving. Just remember to cover the pitcher with storage wrap so the sangria doesn’t absorb any funky fridge smells.

Peach Sangria Tips

What do I serve with peach sangria?

Peach sangria is a sweet drink and is best served with desserts—especially peach desserts! Go the classic route with a peach crumble pie or an easy peach cobbler. This peachy summer cheesecake is absolute heaven. We also love these innovative peach cobbler cookies and these ultra-summery grilled peach sundaes.

What should I use if I can’t find peach schnapps?

If you can’t find peach schnapps, use one of your favorite vodka brands. Peach-flavored vodka or vanilla vodka work perfectly.
