Directions

Preheat the oven to 325°F. In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine the can of cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, 1 cup of cheese and 1-1/4 cups of French-fried onions. Heat through, stirring until blended, four to five minutes.

  • Add depth with herbs and spices: You can layer extra flavor into the sauce by adding your favorite herbs and spices. Parsley, basil, oregano, thyme, lemon zest, crushed red pepper flakes or dry mustard powder would all be great choices to give the casserole further zip.
